Skincare Sneaks: Chrissete

3:32 PM

This week we peek into the skincare routine of my good friend Chrissete, a professor at the De La Salle University and a wannabe-runner (her words!). She also blogs occasionally. Her skin type is normal to oily. ("And sweaty. Haha.")

Start young. Moisturize. And protect your skin from the sun.
I really have a simple skincare regimen, mainly because I’m too lazy. Haha.
I just wash my face with the Neutrogena Deep Clean foaming gel or the Philosophy Purity (together with Clarisonic Mia whenever I feel the need). After trying out a lot of different brands of facial washes, these two are my favorites since they really make my face feel clean.
After washing my face, I put on either Olay Total Effects or Lancome Renergie Multi-Lift. (Yey for anti-ageing!) Afterwards, before I leave the house, I put on any of these BB creams (for more coverage and another round of SPF).
At night, I put on the Olay Regenerist.
Other stuff I have:
Clinque Even Better Skin Tone Correcting MoisturizerClinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector – I do have freckles on my face even if I am morena. My sister gave me these two to help address the problem.
Neutrogena Hydroboost Essence – Just got this recently from a friend. This is a great moisturizer because it doesn’t make your face (look and feel) oily.
Neat 3B Face Saver (Facial Antiperspirant) – My sweat glands are hyperactive.
If I’m wearing heavy eye makeup, I use Maybelline Make-Up Remover before washing my face.
As for the body, I rarely use soap nowadays (except Safeguard after running) and just use body washes. And because I sweat a lot, too, I rarely use lotions. Whenever my skin feels dry, I just slather on the classic Nivea Crème. There’s a Belo lotion there somewhere. I bought it not because of the whitening but because it’s the cheapest lotion I can find with SPF 30.
I know I should also start investing in eye creams. I think it’s an essential part of skin care, especially for someone who is in her late 20s.

Side note:
When I reduced my sugar and sodium intake, I noticed that my skin improved a lot. So like what I always say, skincare doesn’t necessarily involve just beauty products. Reduce sugar and salt, and remember to drink lots of water!
